Read some talking points that demonstrate some Chapter 58 health insurance flaws

Dear Legislator:

As your constituent, I am writing to request your help in righting a wrong that has been committed against the voters of Massachusetts.

Chapter 58, The Massachusetts Health Reform Act of 2006 is a piece of punitive legislation that is doing  incalculable harm to the working class citizens of the Commonwealth. The law requires that all Massachusetts residents over the age of 19 purchase health insurance or face draconian fines. Many Bay Staters can not afford these low quality health insurance products that really do not improve access to medical care. Similar incremental fixes attempted here in the Commonwealth and in other states have inevitably met with failure. The Individual Mandate that is the centerpiece of this legislation will force many people to leave the state and severely strain the budgets to those who remain. I am asking that you show real leadership by sponsoring a bill to repeal this misguided reform effort.

It is time that the United States adopts a truly universal health care law financed by a fair and equitable tax. Every other industrialized nation on Earth ensures its citizens access to preventative care and treatment, why can’t the United States? You and your colleagues are being presented will an opportunity to show the way for the nation, I urge you to seize it! Please end the tyranny of the personal mandate.

The courtesy of your reply is requested.

Sincerely,
